SHUNTING MOVEMENTS

1.   Loco Pilot must perform shunting as per hand signals shown, fixed signal and must verify setting of points before proceeding & use of walkie-talkie for conveying the proceed hand signal is strictly prohibited.

2.   Correct cab changing procedure in both single and multiple Locomotive to be followed and extra precaution must be taken when shunting is performed in gradient section (GR 5.20 & 5.23).

3.   In case of pushing the train, the no. of coaches/wagons to be pushed must be clearly verified & must have knowledge on holding capacity of those lines before pushing back.
